Here's the excerpt from Rumblefish:  . . . Rumblefish called on our artists for an early Christmas present:  holiday music.  Specifically, we asked for them to submit original holiday compositions or their new renditions  of traditional classics.
  The response was overwhelming!  We received jazzy Jingle Bells, electronic Emmanuels, and some great original works that put everyone at Rumblefish in the early-holiday spirit.  After a quick run to the store for some nog, we picked our twelve favorite songs to comprise our first ever digital holiday release:  FRESH CUTS.   Listen to FRESH CUTS when that Manheim Steamroller album  has been played one too many times.

  Who is JDWyker?  It was personal.  When the likes of Johnny Wyker called lil' ol' me in late 2005, I tuned right in to his southern hospitality and candor.  Also to his complex flow of raw and refined creativity in process -- that deep, steady voice heralding an effusive spirit.  A real story-teller.  Google "wyker cat tales" for a start.  My Christmas CD was released by November -- strategically late but off I went a-marketing.  With Irish luck an early gust of enthusiasm came from JDWyker!  Wow.

I embraced stories about Muscle Shoals, playing Carnegie Hall, living on a houseboat.  So many famous musicians and friends.  Yes, women and parties and motorcyles.  The movie that was not to be.  Running his beloved internet station.  Good times and bad -- I got an initiation.  Raising his teenage daughter and making ends meet.  Interspersed with sales strategies and an invite to list for free with Char at WorldWare.  Through marketing exhaustion I felt the warmth of friendly support.  Wyker (friends call him) truly admired my first and deliberately eccentric productions.  Fit to be tied if I took his meaning.  Exuberant.  By now others have joined him.  Not to honk my holiday horn at the procession of "We are curious . . . interested."  Surprisingly prominent contacts, and international.
Du courage, mes amis!  I digress.

In 1972, JOHN D. WYKER and COURT PICKETT formed the Southern Rock group SAILCAT.  The rock opera concept album was conceived by Wyker and produced by legendary Muscle Shoals guitarist/songwriter PETE CARR.  The title cut MOTORCYCLE MAMA shot straight to the top of the charts where it stayed for 14 weeks!  SAILCAT appeared on Dick Clark's AMERICAN BANDSTAND and performed at CARNEGIE HALL.
